Fort Tharen

Based on Waldron Island in the San Juan Islands, Fort Tharen is an 8x8km training facility used by the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment, allowing ground and air cavalry assets to practice and execute on combat fundamentals across the island. Scattered across the fort are remnants of Waldron's (fictional) past as a Soviet outpost, logging hub, tourist trap, and now combat range, creating a diverse setting for conducting training exercises. 

Waldron Field in the east consists of a austere runway for rotary operations and a number of training ranges which cover rifle, grenade, pistol, and heavy weapon marksmanship, CQB and CQC drills, trench clearing, and vehicle gunnery. North Bay and the adjacent Spanish Coast offer oceanside views and encamped rebel positions cut into the woodline while the area around DZ Mac allows for open movement between sprawling wheat fields. The Soviet Peninsula and Orca Bight contain the remnants of a soviet past, preserved for future destruction to meet your training needs. Finally, the whole island is overseen by Mount Westbrooke in the south, containing a number of positions tucked away between the windswept slopes.
