Description
Karolön is an island off the coast of Gotland which has been used by the Swedish military since 1756 for defending the area with coastal artillery. In the second world war, radar arrays and radio antennas were equipped on the smaller island to extend radio range, which irritated the Soviet Union during the cold war.
