Description
The CH-46 is a twin-engine, tandem-rotor medium-lift transport helicopter designed to move Marines, gear, and supplies quickly across the battlefield. Introduced in the 1960s, it became one of the most iconic workhorses of the USMC, serving extensively in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Its tandem-rotor layout gives it excellent stability, tight handling, and the ability to operate from ships or confined landing zones.
