Description
The AH-1G Cobra was the first dedicated attack helicopter fielded by the United States Army and became an icon of the Vietnam War. Developed from the Huey airframe, the Cobra introduced a narrow fuselage, tandem seating, and a streamlined profile designed specifically for speed, agility, and close air-support missions. Its lightweight design, combined with the proven Lycoming T53 turboshaft engine, gave the AH-1G impressive maneuverability and allowed it to escort troop transports, deliver suppressive fire, and engage ground targets with precision.
