Summary
Ksoy island based off San Diego, California.
Description
Ksoy is a modified half-size model of San Diego, California. This initial test release has minimal trees, no grass, few roads, and no buildings. Everything is incomplete. Ksoy uses San Diego for its topography and inspiration but Ksoy is not intended to be an exact replica of San Diego. Ksoy island and its climate have provided shelter to people for millennia. Prior to industrialization, families predominately lived near the coast and harvested resources along east-west drainages, spending the year living between two or more areas to enjoy seasonal work and family recreation opportunities. The island's deep natural harbor benefits regional shipping industries and supports permanent settlement across the island. Ksoy has a vibrant all year tourism industry, world renown research and education facilities, internationally recognized self-sovereignty, universal basic income for all residents, and a proud history of military nonalignment during Arma conflicts. K-s'oy is where the ocean, shoreline, riverland, and tideland meet to dry. The first inhabitants of the island pronounced the name with three syllables but today a two syllable pronunciation is preferred by most people. K/Ku/Kuu/Kw is a prefix given to placenames, and Se'aay means drying.
