Description
Ruha Province. October 2004.
An American detachment dug in in an administrative block on the outskirts of the city of Ruha. This facility was the key to the passage, the only way to transfer heavy equipment. While the Americans held the point, the Syrian army could not suppress the uprising in the north.
The roar of engines broke the silence of the morning. Streams of Syrian special forces and old BTR-70s poured down from the mountains. Their task was simple — to sweep away the tiny squad by any means necessary.
Flashes of gunfire lit up the ruins. The Marines fought back desperately, calling artillery fire on themselves. But the waves of attackers were endless. The Syrians went into frontal attacks, regardless of losses. They knew that this passage was more important than the life of an entire company.
By dawn, at the cost of dozens of lives, the Syrians had the task of suppressing the last pockets of resistance. Open the road.
