Summary
BMD-2 Chasis based Anti-Air Weapon
Description
The BTR‑ZD (“Skrezhet”) is a Soviet-era self‑propelled anti‑aircraft vehicle built on the tracked BTR‑D airborne APC chassis. Introduced in 1984, it was designed to give Soviet Airborne Forces mobile air-defense support. Like the BTR-ZD & BMD variant vehicles it is used by the Soviet VDV as an airborne equivalent to the Shilka (not entirely).
