These changes come under the idea that the machine gun sniper rifle meta is not fun to play and kind of kills the mill sim feel.   Nextly complex medical is fun but rarely does anyone have the supplies on them to save anyone. This should help that and increase a squads time in the field. We removed loadouts because they no longer served the purpose of giving low ranks access to premade kits with stuff that they couldnt pull.  We plan to make load out saving persist across matches which means a player can just set up their kit how they want it and roll it when ever they jump in the server.

In vanilla ranks are primarly used to control the flow of the game to keep from unbalancing distrubtion. We want supply to be this instead and use ranks as a source of player knowledge about the game and your community. Though some things of course will still be rank restricted we want those to be game driving features instead of little things like basic vics and optics.

Ok just gonna rip the bandaid off right away. We removed rocket launchers!  From both US and USSR and FIA AI. We want Frost Byte to be about Vic fights and with everyone and their brother running around with a rocket launcher pulling armor does not win games.  We want to see what happens when players cant just pack a rocket launcher with them to solve technical problems.  That being said we have left the javalin and IGLA in.  Pilots should be advised if they see smoke trails that flares will now be helpful! We also left the placeable explosives in for each faction and the detonator.  So creative players can still set up ambushes and special ops missions to take down enemy armor. Also this puts anti armor sniper and machine guns in the spot light as viable anti armor infantry options.

Removing the AI RPGs was just to give some breathing room to armor at the start of the game..  The AI rocket power was really overwhelming. We will most likely add these back in the future just in smaller doses and to give the start of the game some juicy “rocket launcher lewt” from the AI.

We also have made all infantry equipment require private to pull from an arsenal. This will most likely see balance chances in the future but we want to see what affects the battle field in what ways and where to go from here. We feel like under barrels will be strong and so could HEDP.

We hope these changes will create a game play that sees more armor on the map while still giving the tools to creative and experienced players to carry games as infantry.

This is the start of our new death system. Our end goal is to make this configurable for server owners, but for now its hard coded to where we think the "sweet spot is", tho we may adjust this down in the future.

This is intended to create a system where player lives matter and as the game progresses they matter more. Players will be on higher and higher death timers by the end of the game and will be forced to make better choices.

There is a lot more coming to this so please keep your eyes peeled here!

These changes are intended to highlight the armor facing side of Frost Byte. We want armor to fill the over all “big boom shooties” role more then infantry with a dozen launchers/rockets. These changes raise all explosives and their launches by at least 3x. They also shine a light on the medics special role giving it the medical kit and requiring captain for anyone else to get it.
