Description
Sudzha,Kursk Region
In August 2024, Ukrainian forces launched a cross-border operation and captured the town of Sudzha in Russia’s Kursk region, establishing control over nearby areas. It was a symbolic and strategic move during the Russia–Ukraine war.
After months of pressure, Russia launched a surprise counterattack called Operation Stream in early March 2025, using underground gas pipelines to infiltrate the area. This forced Ukrainian troops to retreat.
