Description
1st Reconnaissance Battalion was stationed at Camp Talega, California from 1976 until around 1988–89. Camp Talega is a section of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton that is not part of San Diego County. It was established in 1942 when the Marine Corps acquired Camp Pendleton.
The 1st Reconnaissance Battalion is part of the 1st Marine Division and conducts training at Camp Pendleton to prepare for deployments. This training includes: Basic rifle and pistol techniques, Immediate action drills, Fire and maneuver, and Weapons handling.
