AI Rearm allows infantry AI to find more ammunition when their usable reserve runs low. It runs on the server and does not replace your scenario, game mode, faction, character prefabs, AI configuration, or group waypoints.

When a compatible soldier needs ammunition, AI Rearm can use three routes.

1. SQUAD SHARING

A safe, available AI squadmate can share compatible spare magazines through Reforger's physical drop-and-pickup behavior. AI Rearm protects the donor's reserve and confirms that the requester received usable ammunition.

2. DEAD-BODY RECOVERY

The AI can move to an allowed dead character and recover compatible magazines that still contain ammunition. The default policy uses friendly AI bodies only. Mission settings can also permit enemy, neutral, and dead player bodies. Incapacitated or revivable characters are never used as sources.

3. ARSENAL REARMING

The AI can find an enabled friendly or neutral arsenal, travel to it, and acquire a compatible magazine. Mission authors can use normal supply costs or make AI arsenal ammunition free. Arsenal access, item compatibility, stock, and inventory capacity are checked in both modes.

CUSTOM CONTENT SUPPORT

AI Rearm reads active weapons, magazine wells, inventory items, arsenal entries, and faction relationships at runtime. It has no faction-specific weapon table or magazine list.

The addon depends only on Arma Reforger. Compatibility has also been demonstrated with Bundeswehr Mod riflemen, G36 magazines, and arsenals without a Bundeswehr-specific adapter.

MISSION SETTINGS

The optional AI Rearm Mission Settings object is available in Game Master's Systems browser. Place one control box to configure:

- master enable or disable;
- automatic or custom low-ammo thresholds;
- automatic or custom target reserves;
- squad sharing, body recovery, and arsenal routes;
- friendly-AI-only or any-dead-body recovery;
- normal supply charging or free AI arsenal ammunition;
- body and arsenal search distances;
- `SAFE`-only or `SAFE` and `VIGILANT` operation;
- the ammunition reserve a donor must keep after sharing.

The controller is optional. Without one, AI Rearm uses its automatic weapon-based defaults. Mission authors can also place `Prefabs/Systems/AIRearm/AIR_AIRearmMissionSettings.et` in Workbench and edit the component values directly.

INSTALLATION

Enable AI Rearm for the scenario or server. Multiplayer servers must load the addon. No `SystemSettings` or scenario-prefab edit is required.

COMPATIBILITY

AI Rearm is designed for infantry AI and additive mods that use Reforger's standard AI, weapon, magazine, inventory, faction, and arsenal systems.

It does not manage player-controlled characters, wildlife, inactive AI, vehicle or turret ammunition, disposable weapons, virtual ammunition systems, custom AI replacements, or arsenal and currency systems that bypass the standard interfaces. Those systems may need a separate integration. Testing the intended mod combination before deployment is recommended.

AI Rearm

AI Rearm lets AI request magazines from squadmates, recover compatible ammunition from allowed dead bodies, and visit arsenals. A placeable Game Master settings system controls settings.
