# Lost Hope Survival

Scavenge. Survive. Adapt. Nizla Island has fallen to the infected, and bandits fight over what is left. You are a survivor who starts at the US main base.

Lost Hope Survival is a persistent PvPvE survival scenario built on the Lost Hope Dynamic Framework (LHDF). You loot, trade, build and fight the infected and bandits. Your character, your money, your vehicles and your base are kept over restarts.

## How it works

- **Base**: you spawn at the US main base. The base and the trader posts are safe zones: no player damage, no explosives.
- **Loot**: search towns, industry, hospitals and military sites. Every area has its own kind of loot, including Project Outbreak barricade materials, tools, lures and infection care, and it comes back after a while.
- **Money**: sell what you find at the traders and complete missions. Your money stays in your account, even when you die.
- **Traders**: general stores, gun store, outfitter, medic, vehicle and helicopter dealers, base building supplies. Somewhere out there is a black market.
- **Vehicles**: vehicles you buy are yours. Lock them and hand out keys to your friends. They are kept over restarts.
- **Bases**: buy building plans and claim your own territory. No building near the traders.

## Features

- **The infected** hold most towns and villages, and hordes roam the land.
- **Bandits** hold the military sites, the industry and some villages, patrol the roads and set up camps and ambushes.
- **The island fights back**: a cleared area does not stay empty. Bandits move into ground taken from the infected, the infected overrun beaten bandit camps, and where players push hard, the enemy digs in.
- **Missions** appear across the island: clear areas, destroy supplies, rescue hostages, hold positions. They pay in money and gear.
- **Your character is saved**: gear, position and health come back when you rejoin, also after a restart.
- **Death is final**: you respawn at the base with a random starter kit (bandit clothes, a pistol or a light gun). Your gear stays on your body until it is cleaned up.
- **No combat logging**: logging out while unconscious counts as death.
- The second weapon slot also takes rifles and other long guns.
- The server rules are shown on join. Open them again with "Server info" in the pause menu or `#info` in the chat.

## For server owners

- Select the mission "Lost Hope Survival (Nizla Island)".
- Settings are JSON files in `$profile:LHDF/LHDF_SurvivalCoop_NizlaIsland/`. An empty folder is valid: the server then uses the scenario's defaults.
- Admins and Game Masters without a server config: start the server with `-lhdfAdmins "<identity id>"` and `-lhdfGameMasters "<identity id>"`. Several ids are separated by commas.
- Optional: add LHDF Arsenal - RHS or LHDF Arsenal - WCS to the server's mod list for their backpacks. The scenario does not need them.
- Saves use the vanilla persistence system, in its JSON save format. Start the server with session loading (`-loadSessionSave`) to continue the latest save.

## Known limitations

- Saves of the DLG Survival PvPvE Scenario cannot be loaded. The scenario starts with a fresh world.
- Do not load together with the DLG mods.

1. OWNERSHIP
This mod, including all code, assets, configurations and documentation
(the "Content"), is created and owned by BoomstickBarry / the LHDF Team (the "Author").
All rights not expressly granted in this license are reserved.

2. PERMITTED USE
Without further permission, you may:
a) download the Content through the Arma Reforger Workshop;
b) use it in single-player, offline or local Workbench sessions for
   personal, non-commercial purposes;
c) host it on the following authorized servers only:
   [Lost Hope Survival - Nizla Island].

3. SERVER RESTRICTION
You may not load, host, run or otherwise deploy the Content, in whole or
in part, on any multiplayer server other than those listed in Section 2(c)
without prior written permission from the Author. This applies to public,
private, password-protected, unlisted, test and event servers, and to
server-side-only use.

4. REQUESTING PERMISSION
Requests must be sent through the Lost Hope Survival Discord:
https://discord.gg/uDzYTTdsM6. Permission is valid only if
given in writing by the Author, applies only to the servers named in it,
and cannot be transferred or sublicensed.

5. NO REDISTRIBUTION
You may not reupload, mirror, repack, merge into another mod, or otherwise
redistribute the Content on any platform.

6. NO DERIVATIVES
You may not modify, adapt, decompile, extract assets or code from, or
create works based on the Content without written permission. Creating a
separate mod that lists the Content as a dependency is allowed only for
use on authorized servers.

7. NO COMMERCIAL USE
You may not sell the Content or use it in any context involving direct or
indirect financial gain, including servers with paid access, paid perks
or donation-based advantages.

7a. NO USE OUTSIDE BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE PRODUCTS
The Content may only be used within Arma Reforger and other Bohemia
Interactive products. It may not be transferred to, used in, or adapted
for any other game, engine or platform.

8. TECHNICAL MEASURES
The Content may include checks that limit its functionality to authorized
servers. Circumventing, disabling or removing these checks is prohibited.

9. TERMINATION AND REVOCATION
Any breach of this license automatically ends your rights under it. The
Author may revoke any granted permission at any time. After termination
or revocation, you must stop using the Content on any server immediately.

10. NO WARRANTY
The Content is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. The Author
is not liable for any damage, data loss or server issues arising from its
use.

11. THIRD-PARTY CONTENT
Any third-party material included in the Content remains subject to its
own license, and nothing here overrides those terms.

12. CHANGES
The Author may update this license. The version shown on the Workshop
page is the one that applies.

13. SEVERABILITY
If any part of this license is found unenforceable, the rest remains in
effect.
