Description
Reports of Barghest first circulated around rural tracks and open scrub. Missing livestock was mentioned in several accounts, although a connection remains unconfirmed.
The animal has a low, elongated body and a prominent jaw. It pursues targets on the ground and attacks with bites. Its dark hide can make the outline difficult to distinguish against shaded vegetation.
