Description
During the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Avdiivka has been a focal point due to its strategic location. In February 2024, after months of intense fighting, Ukrainian forces withdrew from the city to avoid encirclement, leading to its capture by Russian troops. The battle resulted in significant destruction, with much of the city reduced to ruins.
